The
third edition of the festival "The Electronic Creation" continues to
present those record labels that have defined the digital galaxy of the
last decade in the historic centre of Caceres. Staying faithful to our
original intention to set thematic showcases devoted to the great
explorers of the electronic music world, on the opening day (Friday,
July 30), we present BIG DADA,
a sub-label of Ninja Tune focused on more heterodox and iconoclast
hip-hop. Big Dada will be represented by a very personal show of Infinite Livez,
one of the most original and creative voices of British rap, which will
join his forces with jazz-glitch and electronic improvisation Swiss
duo, Stade. Together with them, a galactic imagery of Juice Aleem
will land in Caceres. Juice Aleem is the former leader of the
emblematic formations like New Flesh or Gamma and he is responsible,
together with Luke Vibert and under the pseudonym Alpha Prhyme, for the
first reference of the record label: the maxi " Misanthropic "(1997).
He also defends oneiric, cosmic and "futuristic" hip-hop, which is sure
to be enjoyed in a special way in dialogue with the stones of the San
Jorge Square that will serve as a framework.
The German record label COMPOST,
the stronghold of nu-jazz in Europe, will be the star of the second day
(Saturday, July 31). On this occasion, this record label’s proposition
bets on the groove in all its manifestations: hip-hop, drum n'bass,
trip-hop, future jazz, electro, etc. The first Compost proposal of the
day is in the hands of the versatility of Ben Mono, whose show is a part of the most eclectic and innovative contemporary world. Later, Michael Reinboth,
the director and head of the record label, will display a creative
hotbed where house, soul, jazz and other musical styles can be
expected... although he has announced that his proposal will be
oriented in a particular way to the neo-disco.
Opening each of these two thematic nights, the stage in San Jorge Square will also host the DJs of Extremadura, DJ Gamjah! and César Andrada, who will transmit the evocative styles developed by Big Dada and Compost in recent decades.
Finally, as a necessary complement, the young creation centre, Centro
de Creación Joven de Arroyo de la Luz, will host a workshop aimed at
the essence of electronic creation neglected in the two theme nights
dedicated to Big Dada and Compost: while Diego Alcalá will focus in the
software Ableton Live, Cisco and Alejandro Villar Agúndez Bellabestia
address audiovisual creation and production and handling of live video.
